History :

Manoir du Lac, pioneer of pedigree Border Collies in South America.

In 1970 french farmers imported ,from the United Kindom,Border Collies of the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS). In an agricultural show, in the south of France, we had the occasion to see how these dogs were working, - that was new for us- and we spoke with young people about their dogs, the training. They communicated to us british trainers’data .
We came into contact with them and went several times to England to see trials and ask about the training.

In 1984 we want to Yorkshire where the trainer and breeder, Allan Heaton, taught us to train a Border Collie.
Some years later we could assist at the clinic of the american trainer, breeder and judge, Dany Shilling.

In december of 1984 we travelled to Uruguay with one english dog and two bitches from the french Société Centrale Canine
In january arrived Jim (ISDS). With this dog, whose owner was Allan Heaton, we learned to train and we bought him to take with us to Uruguay.

They were the first Border Collies with a pedigree of the ISDS imported to South America. We continue trying to maintain the genetics and to improve it bringing new dogs of the ISDS.
We always import adults to make sure that they are free of dysplasia and of the Collie Eye Anomaly ( CEA).

The following years we made several working demonstrations with our Border Collies and sheeps in agricultural shows in Montevideo and inside the country. We worked also in agricultural shows in Argentine and Brasil.

We exported dogs to Argentine, Brasil for work and agility.
